Getting ready for CNY

Today we do some last bit of cleaning up. Mainly on the windows.
We also did some shopping to finish up what we need to get, eg: oranges
I'm feeling tired now actually. The girls are asleep now. I guess they are tired also.

Some updates of the girls. S is more vocal now and V more daring. They both like to play pretend. They will pretend to go to school, then go home, then eat dinner and take bus.. so cute to see them playing pretend.

This coming Wednesday is Chinese New Year's Eve. For Chinese, it's a day where the whole family will gather and eat together. We call this reunion dinner. After reunion dinner, people normally stay at home to watch tv or go to Chinatown to do some last minute shopping. For us, we normally stay at home and watch shows. That very night, parents also give their children an angbao. Chinese call it "Ya1 Shui4 Qian2". Children will normally stay up as last as possible, it symbolise to wish their parents living to a old age, Chinese call it "Shuo2 Shui4".

Looking forward for Chinese New Year now. :)

We have been invited to a Reunion dinner on Wednesday and then a bigger celebration on Friday. I LOVE learning about the tradition and symbolism of Chinese New Year...last year we saw the MOST AMAZING dragon dance team!!
Happy New Year (almost)
XOXO
