Ok, I'm tempted to get a dSLR... am aiming the basic range, Nikon D40. However, I'm worried that I will under utilise it.
Cos of the weight and size, PNS camera is easier to bring out and easier to shot with. But a dSLR will provide a better picture.
Also worried that I might end up not using the manual setting and use back auto, then will be no different from PNS camera.
Haiz.. to invest or not to?

Irene,
you have to decide carefully on the investment as I feel that if you are the one that normally goes out with your own bag, barang of the kids and carrying around another camera bag can be a chore for you. Also, carrying a dSLR around can be heavy too.
Unless you are really avid photographer, the investment will be very good. Otherwise, you can consider getting another PnS instead which can also be great for taking stunning photos as well.
You can try out this Canon PowerShot SD870IS which has a very good lens range of 28mm-105mm and includes the Image Stabiliser. Meets all your needs for daily photo taking.
Thanks Marr!
Will check out the Canon PowerShot.
Which camera are you using now?
I am using Canon 350D Dgital Rebel XT. Have never regretted getting it and loving it to bits. hahaha..it's my precious besides my powerbook. It's addictive and the spending is kinda crazy and need to be controlled, else I will burn a super big hole in my pocket with my SB, Photography and Gadgets hobbies. :)
